Preventative Health and Care Dynamix Inc

The Care Dynamix definition of preventative health is that an organization or individual is taking preemptive
measures to establish a baseline of their current state of health, identify genetic or behavioral traits that
present an increased risk profile for illness or chronic disease, and makes systemic changes to reduce or
eliminate that risk and thus lead a more healthy life.

The first step in this process to improved wellness is a health screening. Smart employers, health
departments and individuals have found that an initial investment in on-site health clinics, combined with
disease management and wellness initiatives, assists in reducing more costly health expenses in the
future. For well over a decade, research has confirmed the effectiveness of health programs, particularly in
corporate environments.

Some specific examples include:
HEALTH SCREENING
CHOLESTEROL TESTING
•  Coca Cola reports saving $500 every year per staff member after initiating a corporate health
program, with only 60% of their workers taking part
•  Coors Brewing Co. found that for $1.00 expended on their health program they experienced a $5.50
return, with their participating employees reducing absenteeism by 18%
•  Prudential Insurance discovered that the benefits costs for workers taking part in their program
were $312, as opposed to $574 for non-participants
•  DuPont’s pilot program generated a savings of  11,726 disability days, and a return of $2.05 for
every dollar invested by the end of the second year
•  Johnson & Johnson estimated an average savings of $224.66 per staff member per year for the four
years examined after the program introduction, with the bulk of the savings being in the third and
fourth years
