Families Fighting Flu Supports Flu Busters Program Goal
Families Fighting Flu supports Flu Busters, a subsidiary of Care Dynamix, and its Step Up! Fight the Flu
program in order to vaccinate at least one million children against influenza this year.
About Families Fighting Flu
Families Fighting Flu is a non-profit, volunteer-based corporation established in 2004 that is made up of
families and healthcare practitioners. Each family has experienced first-hand the death of a child due to the
flu or has had a child experience severe medical complications from the flu. We are dedicated to educating
people about the severity of influenza and the importance of vaccinating children against the flu every year.
Through education and advocacy, we hope to improve the rates of childhood flu vaccinations and help
reduce the number of childhood illnesses and deaths caused by the flu each year.
Whether it is the difficulty of walking past a now-empty bedroom, or the sadness in never seeing a young
niece or nephew celebrate another birthday, losing a loved one has left an incredible emptiness in our lives.
This site is a way for individuals to realize that they are not alone in this fight against the flu and to channel
their grief into helping to save others by encouraging annual flu vaccination for all children in the U.S.
The Story of Families Fighting Flu
Every year, children die in the U.S. from influenza and its complications. In fact, influenza kills nearly 100
American children under five years of age every year. These are unnecessary losses that impact not only
us, but everyone in our community - including siblings, grandparents, and schoolmates.
The families and friends of these children have been left shocked and devastated. Looking for comfort and
wanting to increase awareness about the importance of vaccinating children against the flu every year, we
have united to form Families Fighting Flu.
How FFF is Funded
Families Fighting Flu operates solely on donations from organizations and people like you that support our
mission and share our goals. Our policies and activities are determined by the families and medical experts
that make up our Board of Directors. We do not advocate on behalf of any flu manufacturers or endorse
any specific flu vaccine.
